Welcome to our first newsletter of the new academic year 2019-20.

The start of the new year is always a hectic time for all concerned with the Academy as students and tutors settle into new timetables, lessons and relationships. The following paragraphs should help clarify any questions that you may have in advance of September 2nd.

NEW BANK DETAILS

As we prepare for the year ahead, we wish to advise that the Academy has new banking arrangements for the operation of the business. The Academy has moved its bank account from AIB to Bank of Ireland. As a result, we will be grateful if EFT payment of fees for 2019/20 be made to the new Account.

Fee Payment Options

Invoices will be issued from Monday 19th August.

Fees may be paid either:

a) In full by Friday 30th August 2019.
b) In half by Friday 30th August 2019 and Friday 10th January 2020.
(Please reference the student name on payments by EFT.)

We much appreciate your continued patronage and look forward to seeing you in the new term.

RIAM Examination Results

The results of the Royal Irish Academy of Music Summer examinations have arrived over the Summer holidays and we’re delighted to tell you that our students have achieved an average result rate in excess of 86 per cent once again. Some students have excelled with percentages in the 90s and many students taking their first ever music examinations have achieved great success.

The Academy’s tutors and I are very proud and appreciative of the hard work of our students in achieving such outstanding success, in some cases against the odds.

The Academy will be open from Monday 19th August each afternoon for anyone who wishes to come and collect their exam results and finalise paperwork for the next academic year.

Enrollment for 2019-20

Enrollment for lessons and courses requires an Academy enrollment form to be completed and signed by parents or guardians and returned to the office with the appropriate payment.

When completing the form bear in mind that the more flexible you are in terms of times you are available, the better your chances of securing a place of your choice. Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis based on the date of receipt of the completed enrollment form. Many courses fill up quickly so early enrollment is encouraged.

Please note that verbal advice to a tutor of the intention to continue a course is insufficient notice of intent, only a completed enrollment form will secure a place.

Communications from the Academy

The Academy strives to communicate effectively and frequently with all pupils and parents.

Communication with adult students and parents is normally direct via email or text message. To facilitate this especially in this era of GDPR legislation, please ensure that the Academy always has up-to-date contact details, including email addresses and mobile telephone numbers. You are encouraged to check for emails from the Academy and to ensure they are not treated as junk mail by your security software.

If you require any further information about any of the above, please contact the office.

Yours Sincerely,

Audrey McKenna
